The short version

DehSuh is an online directory where people advertise vehicles, equipment, and spaces, and where interested people contact the lister directly. We don't handle rentals, sales, or payments between users, and we don't take a commission. We do collect the information needed to run the platform, verify listers, and connect people — and we explain all of it below.

1 About DehSuh & this policy

DehSuh ("DehSuh", "we", "us", or "our") operates an online classified listing and advertising platform. DehSuh is based in Jamaica and is available to people around the world. The platform lets people post listings for vehicles, equipment, and spaces, and lets other people browse those listings and contact the person who posted them.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our website, mobile experience, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you don't agree with this policy, please don't use the Service.

Because DehSuh is operated from Jamaica, we handle personal information in line with Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020. Our users are located around the world, so where you are protected by the data-protection laws of your own country or region — such as the EU or UK GDPR, or U.S. state privacy laws — we aim to honour the rights those laws give you, and this policy is intended to work alongside them.

2 Our role as a directory

It's important to understand what DehSuh is and isn't. DehSuh is a venue and directory — a place to advertise and to discover listings. Like platforms or other classified marketplaces, we provide the tools that connect people, but we are not a party to any agreement, rental, sale, or other transaction that results from a listing or an inquiry.

  • We do not own, inspect, endorse, or take possession of any listed vehicle, item, or space.
  • We do not process bookings, collect rental or sale payments between users, or take a commission on any deal.
  • Listers are responsible for their own listings, pricing, availability, and conduct, and for any agreements they make with the people who contact them.
  • When you contact a lister (or a lister responds to you), you are dealing with that person directly, outside our control.

Because of this, the information we collect is mostly what's needed to publish listings, verify who listers are, and pass along the contact details people choose to share with each other.

3 Information we collect

Information you provide when you sign up

Anyone can create a free account as a regular user. When you register or update your profile, we collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
  • A password, which we store only in encrypted (hashed) form.
  • An optional profile photo and any display preferences, such as your chosen currency.

Lister verification information

A regular user can apply to become a lister so they can post listings. Because verification protects everyone on the platform, becoming a lister requires submitting official documents and details, which may include:

  • Government-issued identification (for example, the front and back of a valid ID).
  • For business listers: business name, business address, business registration documents, tax type, Tax Registration Number (TRN), and supporting tax documents.

These verification documents are sensitive information. We use them only to confirm identity and eligibility to list, to meet legal and compliance obligations, and to help keep the platform trustworthy. We restrict internal access to them and do not display them publicly.

Listing content

When a lister creates a listing, we collect the details they enter, such as:

  • Descriptions, specifications, photos, pricing, and availability or operating schedules.
  • Location information for the listing — for example a place, address, or map point selected through our mapping provider.

Inquiries and contact information

When you submit an inquiry about a listing, we collect the details you include — such as your name, contact details, intended dates, and message — so we can pass your inquiry to the relevant lister and let them respond to you through the contact method you've chosen.

Subscription and payment information

Listers may purchase a subscription plan to unlock listing slots. For paid plans we record details such as the plan chosen, the payment method (for example bank transfer or PayPal), transaction or order references, proof of payment, and the status of the payment. Card or banking credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider — we do not collect or store full card numbers ourselves.

Reviews and feedback

If you leave a review, rating, or other feedback, we collect that content and associate it with your account.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our providers may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser information, IP address, and general location inferred from it.
  • Usage and log data — pages viewed, searches, listings opened, and similar activity.
  • Information stored through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

4 How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account, and let you switch between user and lister roles.
  • Verify listers and review submitted documents.
  • Publish, display, and rank listings, and operate features like search, maps, and currency display.
  • Receive inquiries and pass them to the relevant lister so the two of you can connect.
  • Process and keep records of lister subscription payments.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, policy violations, and security issues.
  • Send you service messages (such as account, inquiry, listing, and billing notices) and, where you've agreed, marketing or product updates you can opt out of at any time.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can maintain and improve it.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5 Our legal bases

Under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020, we rely on one or more of the following grounds to process your personal information:

  • Performing our agreement with you — to provide the Service you've signed up for.
  • Your consent — for example, for optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Our legitimate interests — such as keeping the platform secure, preventing fraud, and improving the Service, balanced against your rights.
  • Complying with a legal obligation — for example, retaining verification or transaction records where the law requires it.

Where the data-protection laws of your own country or region also apply to our processing, we rely on the equivalent lawful bases recognised under those laws.

6 How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • With other users to make contact possible. When you inquire about a listing, the contact details and message you provide are shared with that lister so they can respond. Similarly, a lister's public listing details and chosen contact options are visible to people browsing the platform.
  • With service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the Service — for example hosting and infrastructure, mapping (Google Maps Platform), payment providers (such as PayPal and banks), email delivery, and analytics. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of DehSuh, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. If DehSuh is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

7 Public listings & contact

Listings are meant to be seen. Details a lister adds — including the listing's title, description, photos, price, location area, business or display name, and chosen contact options — are publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines. Reviews you post may also be displayed publicly with your display name.

Please don't include information in a listing, inquiry, or review that you wouldn't want to be public. Once contact information is shared with another user, we can't control how that person stores or uses it.

8 Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your selected currency.
  • Keep the Service secure and working correctly.
  • Understand usage so we can improve features and performance.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Service work.

9 Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, and listings may link to external sites or contact channels we don't control. Notably, we use Google Maps Platform for location and mapping features; your use of those features is also subject to Google's privacy terms. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites or services, and we encourage you to review their policies.

10 How long we keep data

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. After that, we either delete it or keep it only where required — for example, verification documents and transaction records may be retained for the period required by law or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymise it securely.

11 How we protect data

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information — including encrypting passwords, securing data in transit, and limiting internal access to sensitive documents. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your account by keeping your password confidential.

12 Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, including Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it.
  • Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave, such as for marketing.
  • Request a copy of certain information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Jamaica's data-protection regulator, the Office of the Information Commissioner — or, if you're located elsewhere, with the data-protection authority in your own country or region.

13 Children & age limits

DehSuh is intended for adults. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 to create an account, become a lister, or submit an inquiry. We don't knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we'll take appropriate steps to remove it.

14 International transfers & data location

DehSuh is operated from Jamaica, and your personal information is stored and processed on the servers that host the Service, which are located in the United States. Some of our service providers — for example hosting, mapping, payment, and email providers — may also process information in other countries where they operate.

If you access the Service from a country other than where our servers are located, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in Jamaica. These places may have data-protection rules that differ from — and may be less protective than — those of your own country, and your information may be subject to lawful access requests by courts, regulators, or authorities there.

By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing. Where required by applicable law, we take steps intended to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection consistent with this policy.

15 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
